New Study Finds: AI Creators Eco-friendliness Surpasses Humans
The latest research indicates that the carbon emissions from literary and artistic works completed by artificial intelligence systems such as ChatGPT, BLOOM, DALL-E2, and Midjourney are significantly lower than those of human creators. This study found that AI can generate useful text and images while emitting 3 to 4 orders of magnitude less carbon dioxide. Researchers suggested that 'the carbon emission per image produced by AI image creation is 310 to 2900 times less than that of human creators.' However, the study also acknowledges that the emission data is incomplete.
